Recipe Ideas: Green Tea Salmon (With Vegan Option)

This recipe actually only takes around 15-30 minutes to make, so if you want something quick and easy while still getting your green tea fix then this is ideal.


The first thing that you’ll want to do is fill up and boil the kettle. You then need to open up your breakfast tea bags or even your Island green tea bags and shake the powder or leaves over your salmon.

When you have done this, season the salmon with some salt and pepper and make sure that all of the sides are coated.

Next, get some olive oil and heat it up in a frying pan. Put the salmon in, skin side down, and fry for 4 minutes on each side.

Now it’s time to go onto the side dish, rice!

Take 300g of rice and wash it in the sink until the water is clear. Then, add it to a pan with 400g of coconut milk while also adding 400ml of water. You can also add a lemon wedge to this as well, before placing the rice mixture onto boil for around 10 minutes.

If you are feeling adventurous you can easily slice up a red chilli and use it as garnish. You can also blend the chilli with some miso paste, soy sauce, honey and the juice of half a lemon. This is great to drizzle over the salmon when everything’s done, but if you find the sauce to be a bit thick, just add a bit of water and even coriander to taste.


If you want to have a vegan or vegetarian option, simply fry some tofu with some lemon, herbs and garlic. You can then dust the green tea on top, like you would the salmon, and continue with the same recipe!
